Knee and ankle muscle features of elite short track athletes and regression analysis of 500m results
The knee and ankle muscle strength of elite male skating athletes was measured and analyzed by ISOMED 2000 isokinetic testing system. Basedon the features of athletes` muscle strength, the study aims to find the differences and drawbacks in short track speed skating athletes and to make the furtherdiscussion on the laws and determinations of the event. The main conclusions were as follows:(1)There was no outstanding performance in peak torque andtotal work of short track skaters, and even worse in flex/ext,but they did better in average power at high speed;(2)The angle of peak torque(fast),averagepower(middle)and peak torque(low)were high correlated to 500m performance, and the correlation and determination were 0.955,0.912 respectively.500m performance is determined by that the muscle performances of fast speed, which including force opportunity, power ability and max-strength ability;the knee muscles are more important than the ankle`s;the strength with technique are the core factor for performance
