The application of data mining in technique and tactic analysis of badminton single matches

Using ihe association rule mining, the paper analyses four matches between LIN Dan (China, world No.1 male ranking) and LEE Chongwei (Malaysia, world No.2 male ranking ), and three matches between XIE Xing-fang (China, world No. 1 female ranking) and RASMUSSEN Tine (Denmark, world No.8 female mnking) revealing associations between skills and tactics. The findings indicate that the association rule mining is suitable for further using and analysis of technique and tactic data of badminton matches and is able to reveal more chacteristics of techniques and tactits, providing coaches with scientific gists in the training and decision-making.
