(Harmonische Gesellschaft und die Entwicklung des Behindertensports in China)

Introduction: The purpose of the study was to examine the gap between disabled sports in China and other developed countries, and to propose reasonable measures and suggestions in order to promote social harmony. Methods Methods used included literature review, comparative analysis, logical analysis, mathematical statistical analysis as well as expert interviews. Results While examining the current situations in disabled sports in developed countries, findings indicated that these countries have well-established social security systems and financial support to facilitate disabled sports. Also, the establishment of training facilities and auxiliary equipment, guarantee the opportunity and right for the individuals with disability to engage in physical activity, which promotes social equality. There were various programs and forms of competitions in disabled sports, which assist the individuals with a disability to strengthen personal enthusiasm by participating in activities and therefore help develop self-confidence. On the other hand, compared with the strengths in the disabled sports in the developed countries, the primary factors hindering the development of disabled sports in China were a lack of financial support, training space and auxiliary equipment. Also, in China, a lack of understanding, respect, and assistance to those with disability is apparent. Thus this situation is not a favorable environment for the development of the disabled sports and social stability. Additionally, the laws, policies, and legal protection in disabled sports have not been well developed. Also there was a lack of professional agencies and staff in consulting to disabled sports, especially to those in rural areas. Conclusions China must learn from the experiences of disabled sports in developed countries, and fundraise for the development of disabled sports to allow free entry to facilities and use of equipment for disabled individuals. Additionally, China need to make an effort to obtain society`s attention and to create a favorable environment that will promote the harmonious development of society. Furthermore, we must develop a system that ensures legal protection for the disabled, and increase investment in disabled sports in rural areas, and establish specialized agencies with professionals to assist the disabled in engaging in exercise.
