Changes in aerobic capacity over a competitive wheelchair rugby season
Introduction:
Regular physical activity among individuals with physical disabilities results in important health outcomes. Ample evidence within researcher-controlled settings has established the ability of persons with various physical disabilities to significantly improve aerobic capacity from structured exercise. The training effects of less structured activities, such as a competitive wheelchair sport season, however, have not been extensively exam ined. The purpose of this study was to examine the changes in aerobic capacity over a competitive wheelchair rugby season.
