Collegiate female basketball player with a pacemaker: a case report
The article presents a case study of a 20-year-old female collegiate basketball player who was taken to the hospital because of profuse sweating, headache, and lightheadedness. Upon evaluation she was diagnosed with third-degree complete heart block and resting heart rate. A surgery was conducted and a permanent, dual-chamber pacemaker was implanted to regulate her heart rate which proved beneficial and she participated in basketball season.
