Maximum lower-body strength as a predictor of ankle proprioception in surfers

The scoring criteria dictates that a combination of major manoeuvres must be performed with speed, power and flow to maximise performance outcomes. Accordingly, it is purported that competitive surfing requires significant lower-body strength as well as precision to perform and link skilful manoeuvres together. The purpose of this study was to determine if lower-body strength was a significant predictor of proprioceptive ability in surfers.
